Gunawan Jusuf is an alumnus of the Universitas Gadjah Mada. Universitas Gadjah Mada is a public research university that was officially founded in 1949. It has since that date become a pillar of academia and expanded its programs to now offer a total of 68 undergraduate study programs, along with 23 diploma study programs, and 67 graduate programs. The vast options of programs that are offered at Universitas Gadjah Mada speaks to the university's accomplishments. These academic standings is what made Gunawan Jusuf want to attend there. After finishing his studies, Gunawan Jusuf dedicated time to investigating and then writing a book on water source management called, “Blue Gold.” This book was written to help educate people on the topic that is so rarely publicized.
